Swordfish is a community project with no commercial objectives or backing. By contributing to the translation process you agree to the following:
Objectives of Swordfish Localization
- To accelerate and assist the take-up of the XLIFF file format in the translation industry.
- Helping to keep the cost of localized versions of Swordfish as low as possible, thereby assisting take-up of the XLIFF format throughout the world, and in particular in less affluent parts of the world.
- Providing localized versions of high-quality translation software following open standards - particularly in languages frequently overlooked by alternative commercial software.
Conditions for participation
- You contribute your translation to the public domain free of charge and with no conditions on its further use.
- You understand that your translation may be used in a commercial project (Swordfish) without attribution or remuneration, however, you are entitled to state that you have contributed to Swordfish via the Swordfish Localization project. Your contribution to the project will also be acknowledge on the Language Status page of the Swordfish Localization web site.
- Maxprograms has given an undertaking to provide 5 free licenses to the five most active translators involved with every language but this undertaking shall not be considered binding on Maxprograms and Maxprograms reserves the right to have final say on the choice of translators to receive free licenses and to withdraw these licenses in the future in the event of a threat to its interests or abuse of the terms and conditions of the license.
